SKL inspection Motor Barrel Spraying
The periodic SKL inspection of all types of motor barrel sprayers is required by law for all machines aged 3 years and older. The content of the inspections for motor drum sprayers is based on the international standard NEN-EN-ISO 16122:4 (2015) and complies with the requirements set out in Annex II of the European directive 2009/128/eg.
Motor barrel sprayers include fixed and mobile motor barrel sprayers, together with horizontal spray booms or vertical spray masts as well as spray lances or spray guns. It also includes spray robots and spray booms attached to a monorail.
It is important that the machine is clean (both inside and outside) and that the machine is safe (shielding moving parts, electrical safety). For the safety of the inspector, the inspection can only start if these conditions are met.
The SKL inspection of motor barrel sprayers consists of the following components:
Leakage | Checking for leaks throughout the system, both depressurised and pressurised |
operation | Functioning of all controls |
pump and agitator | Measurement of the capacity and condition of the pump and check the functioning of the agitator |
measuring equipment | Pump and spray manometer for readability and accuracy |
liquid tank | Tank cover, tank capacity readability, filling sieve, various filters |
filters | Presence and condition |
spray line and accessories | Condition and attachment of hoses, pipes, clamps, cap holders and caps |
liquid dispensing | Cap output compared to nominal (original) value |
pressure control | Operation of pressure regulator, operation of pressure accumulator |
boom/spray gun | Fluid delivery, leakage, etc. |
dispensing systems | Operation, accuracy |
Where to judge?
There is a nationwide network of SKL-approved inspection stations to carry out inspections of motor vessel sprayers.
These are the companies recognised as 'SKL approved inspection station for the periodic inspection of motor vessel sprayers'. A list of these companies can be found by clicking here .
These companies have the right testing equipment and trained inspector(s) to perform the inspection properly.
The inspection can be carried out either at the inspection station or on site at the grower's premises.
